LOUIS XVI, THE MAN WHO DIDN'T WANT TO BE KING

Directed by : Thierry Binisti

The third part of the Versailles trilogy, the film tells the story of Louis XVI, free of the clichés (a chubby, lumpish, even thick king) that have long shrouded him. When he became king at 20, upon the death of Louis XV in 1774, Louis XVI was very aware of the hardships his country was going through and the need for deep-running reform. 15 years later, the monarchy will collapse.
