1968 ACTES PHOTOGRAPHIQUES

Directed by : Auberi Edler

The events which marked the year 1968, in the whole world, were the beginning of major changes in our society. By Witnessing those instants, some images gave to photographers a prestigious visibility : a publication in Time-Life, Newsweek or Paris-Match can modify a professional path. The photographies took in 1968 lights up the fires in Vietnam, the tears in Prague, the agony in Biafra, Martin Luther King’s blood, pavements lifted in Paris, the determination of afro-american in Mexico, and if History is our heritage, those images are the marks.

Photographical Act 1968 returns to those timeless cliches by questioning professionals of the photography, but also historians, sociologists or important figures of this period. These speakers will weave the historic, esthetic and journalistic links, of photos which, by bringing back the war, the racism, the social contesting and the African injustice, establish the tangled history of our time and guarantee it as long as we shall know how to listen and to look at them.
